Paid DGC POS Pro plans may be introduced later. The Service is operated under the DGC POS trade name. Formal company name, registered address, and registration number will be published on this site when registration is complete.
DGC POS uses a dual model: (1) DGC POS Community — open-source, self-hostable POS published on GitHub under an explicit open-source license; and (2) DGC POS Cloud — the hosted product at app.dgcpos.com, which is proprietary managed software governed by our Terms of Use. Free cloud access during public beta is not the same as open-sourcing the entire cloud platform. Paid DGC POS Pro may be offered later for advanced features.

1. Data controller
The Operator acting under the DGC POS brand is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service, except where third-party payment or infrastructure providers act as independent controllers for their own services.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email, phone, business name, country, store settings, and credentials.
- Business data: products, inventory, sales, customers, staff, receipts, and operational records you enter.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser data, logs, timestamps, and security audit records.
- Communications: support messages, feedback, and correspondence with support@dgcpos.com.
- Payment metadata: transaction references and status from enabled gateways (card/wallet details are handled by processors).
3. How we use information
We process information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Service.
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud, and enforce platform rules.
- Improve features, performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Communicate about accounts, security, beta access, and service updates.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
- Prepare for billing, registration, and commercial operations.
We may use aggregated or de-identified data for analytics, benchmarking, and product development without identifying you personally.
4. Legal bases
We rely on contractual necessity, legitimate interests (including security and product improvement), compliance with law, and consent where required by applicable privacy regulations.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal data. We may share information with:
- Infrastructure providers: cloud hosting, CDN, database, backup, and monitoring vendors.
- Payment processors: where you enable third-party gateways.
- Professional advisers: lawyers, accountants, or auditors under confidentiality duties.
- Successors: in connection with registration, restructuring, or asset transfer.
- Authorities: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and platform integrity.
Service providers are authorized to process data only as needed to perform services for us and subject to appropriate contractual safeguards where applicable.
6. International processing
As a cloud platform serving users globally, data may be processed in multiple countries where our infrastructure providers operate. You consent to such transfers where permitted by law, and you are responsible for ensuring your own cross-border compliance obligations.
7. Merchant customer data (POS shops)
If you are a merchant / store owner, you may enter personal data about your customers (names, phones, loyalty, receipts). For that data:
- You are typically the controller of your end-customer data and must provide any notices required by law at your shop or online storefront.
- We process that data as a platform service provider to host and operate the Service for you (including backups, security, support, and multi-tenant isolation).
- You must only upload data you are lawfully allowed to process, and you remain responsible for your staff's use of the POS.
A written Data Processing Addendum (DPA) may be provided on request for enterprise or regulated merchants. Contact privacy@dgcpos.com.
8. Data isolation
Business account data is logically separated by tenant. Store owners control their operational records within the Service. Platform administrators may access account data for support, security, billing, beta management, and enforcement of our terms.
9. Retention
We retain account and business data for as long as your account is active. After account closure we may retain limited records for security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Typical targets (subject to change and legal holds):
- Account / store data: for the life of the account, then up to 24 months unless law requires longer.
- Security and access logs: typically 90 days to 12 months.
- Backups: rolling windows as operated by our infrastructure providers.
We may delete or anonymize data when no longer required. Account deletion does not erase all backups or records we must keep by law.
10. Security and breaches
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is completely secure; you use the Service at your own risk and should maintain independent backups of critical business records.
Where a personal-data breach is required to be notified under applicable law, we will notify affected parties and/or authorities as required.
11. Subprocessors
We use service providers to operate the cloud Service, including (as applicable):
- Cloudflare (CDN, DNS, edge hosting for web frontends)
- Railway or equivalent cloud host (application API)
- Google (optional Analytics after consent)
- Stripe and other payment gateways you enable (payments)
- Email delivery providers used for transactional mail
Providers process data only as needed to deliver their services to us. The list may change as our infrastructure evolves.
12. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, or deletion of certain personal data by contacting support@dgcpos.com or privacy@dgcpos.com. We may verify your identity and may refuse or limit requests where permitted by law, where fulfillment would impair rights of others, undermine security, or conflict with legal retention duties.
Account deletion: To request deletion of your DGC POS cloud account and associated personal data, follow the steps at https://dgcpos.com/delete-account (or email privacy@dgcpos.comwith subject "Account deletion request" from your registered email). We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.

14. Cookies and local storage
The Service uses cookies and browser storage for authentication, cart, preferences, and offline functionality. Optional analytics (Google Analytics) loads only after you choose Accept all. See our Cookie Policy. Disabling essential cookies may limit Service availability.
15. Children
The Service is for businesses and authorized adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
16. Third-party links and services
Third-party websites, gateways, and integrations have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for their policies or handling of your data.
17. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Updated versions are effective when posted on this page. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate. Continued use constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
